DESCRIPTION

The Annapurna Sanctuary is the trek to Annapurna Base Camp situated under the immense south face of Annapurna. The trek passes through the middle hills of Nepal with Gurung villages and forests of oak, magnolia and rhododendron. The trail then follows the Modi Khola river into the Sanctuary where you enter a hidden amphitheatre with a superb view of many snowy peaks. From Annapurna Base Camp you will see Hinchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna Fang, Annapurna I and III, Gangapurna and Machhapuchhare (know as the Fishtail because of its distinctive shape). This is not a particularly difficult trek although there are some steep climbs and a few narrow bridges. It is a good a trek to do if you would like to get into the high Himalayas without the longer acclimatisation period required for some of the other treks. The highest altitude reached is 4130m at Annapurna Base Camp.

How to get to Hotel from Airport?

When you book a Trekking or any activities with us. We arrange arrival pick up from International Airport and transfer you to hotel.

Tips for Communication during trek

If you are occasional phone usage and want to get in touch with you friend and family back home or want to post on social media , I recommend purchasing an Ncell pre-paid local SIM card in Kathmandu on arrival. It has various rates and packages available. It works on most of the place during trek. Namaste Adventure staff members are available to support where necessary.

Best time to Travel to Nepal

In Nepal, we have two prime trekking seasons which start from Feb-May and again from Sept-Nov. There are other places to visit during Monsoon season (June-August), such as Mustang and the Upper West part of the Annapurna Circuit, as these treks are in the “Rain Shadow” and virtually untouched by Nepali Monsoon.

What is 'teahouse' trekking?

During our treks, you will be staying at local lodges, also known as Tea Houses. Tea Houses are a combination of a guesthouse/lodge and a restaurant. As we are regular and have good relations with locals we alwasy reserve rooms in advance to ease to get rooms in busy season.
